Armed robbers hit convenience store
The search is on for three men believed to be behind two separate incidents - an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery - that occurred in West Seattle on Thursday night.
Police spokesman Jeff Kappel said two men, one armed with a knife, approached a convenience store in the 7500 block of 35th Avenue Southwest at 8:22 p.m.
But something appeared to have spooked the would-be robbers, who ran to their car and sped off, Kappel said.
Just 14 minutes later, another convenience store in the 7700 block of Highland Parkway SW was robbed by three men armed with at least one handgun.
Two of the men were covering their faces with bandannas, according to Kappel. The men fled in their car, and remain at large.
Police believe the same group of men is behind both incidents. A description was not available.
No one was injured in either incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
