School boundary maps change high school attendance areas

The Seattle School Board released the recommended attendance area maps with changes affecting West Seattle schools.

The district claims that changes in attendance areas for Chief Sealth and West Seattle high schools, as well as Denny and Madison middle schools, will enable more students to walk to school, and will more closely align attendance area boundaries with neighborhoods.

The changes also support the co-location of Denny and Sealth.

The board will vote on whether to enact this recommendation at their Nov. 18 meeting.

What do you think of the new student assignment maps?
